Y'all know how much I love wearing lipstick. Sure, I may be known for my bold red pout, but that's not all I wear. I have to say, especially when springtime rolls around, I love pink lips. There's something about a pink lip that is just easy to wear and makes you look youthful and natural.
But as with those bold red shades, finding the perfect pink lipstick can be tricky. You have to take different factors into consideration like your skin tone, undertones of the lipstick, occasion, and the all-around look you want to achieve. That's why in today's post I'm excited to share a round-up of the 6 best pink lipstick shades for fair skin.
Unlike red, I feel that when you want a pink lip, the options out there to choose from can be majorly overwhelming. I mean, red falls into a pretty defined category, but not pink. Pink lipsticks can go from neutral skin-colors shades to super hot pinks and even berry colors. Let's just say my research for this post was exhaustive and in-depth but alas, I came up with a list of 6 pink lipstick shades that I think work best on my fair skin.
But before we dive into the list, let's talk about skin tones for a moment. While everyone has a different skin tone, most people fall into the category of either fair skin, medium or olive skin tones, and then dark skin tones. Different shades of pink work on different skin tones just like red. Here's a breakdown of each skin tone and the shades that can work best for you.
Pink Shades For Fair Skin Tones
Fair skin typically has a cool undertone, meaning that they have a more blue or reddish tint to it. So when choosing a pink lipstick, you may want to try shades that look like your natural lip color. Think colors that are peachy or nude pinks. So pick shades of pink that compliment your natural lip color but give it a little pop.
Pink Shades for Medium Skin Tones
Medium skin tones or skin with a neutral undertone should go for shades of pink that lean more towards brown or tan in color. These will complement the olive skin complexion while still giving off a natural lip look. You can even look for shades that have a bit more purple or blue undertones that read a bit more berry.
Pink Shades or Darker Skin Tones
If you have a darker skin tone, have some fun with bold shades of pink lipstick. Pick a bold neon pink or super-rich berry color. All of these will compliment your deeper completion and warm undertone and really make your lipstick pop. If you want a more natural lip look, look for pink lipstick shades that match your natural lip color.
6 Best Pink Lipstick Shades For Fair Skin
All of this to say is, rules are meant to be broken! The tips above are merely guidelines on where to start when looking for your own perfect shade of pink lipstick. There are lipsticks for every skin tone out there! As you can tell, even with my fair skin, I love natural soft pink lipstick, brown-leaning colors as well as hot pinks and bold berry shades. Experimenting and creating a collection of lipsticks that you love and make you feel good is what this is all about. Ok, so let's dive in on my picks for the 6 best pink lipsticks shades for fair skin.
Butter London
I'm starting off my list by cheating a bit. This butter LONDON Plush Rush Tinted Lip Treatment in "Double Date" isn't, in fact, lipstick. It's a super smoother lip tint that gives my natural lip color a little boost. Infused with shea butter and Murumuru seed butter it makes my lips feel super smooth and hydrated with the lightest, prettiest shade of pink.

NARS
NARS has always made some of my absolute favorite lipsticks. Their matte lip pencils and matte lipsticks go on so smooth and the color is saturated and lasts all day. You may even remember that my beloved bold red lip is also a NARS lip pencil (#5 on this list). The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in "Roman Holiday" is basically a jumbo crayon. The formula is smooth and nourishing while the product is long-lasting.

Charlotte Tilbury
When I first started my pink lipstick research (I ordered and tried over 20 different shades of lipstick, y'all!) the number one brand that came up was Charlotte Tilbury. Specifically their Matte Revolution Lipstick in "Pillow Talk". I totally get why this pink lipstick is so beloved, it's the perfect natural pink shade. The matte finish is long-lasting and buildable so you can go as light or dark as you'd like with the pigmentation.

Urban Decay
For the longest time, this Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Lipstick in "Naked" has been my go-to pink shade. You may have even noticed I wear it a lot here on Poor Little It Girl when I take photos. I love how this lipstick goes on smooth and leaves my lips feeling super hydrated. This particular category of Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks comes in 35 different color options and is under $20 so yeah, don't sleep on this one!

Y'all know I can't resist a bold lip, and how fun is this CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in "Bombshell Pink"?! While bold, this hot pink shade isn't so in your face you look like you have neon liquid lipstick paint on your lips. The pigmentation in this lipstick is super rich and hydrating because it's also infused with shea butter. Not only is the quality of this product amazing, but the price tag is only $8 at your local drugstore.
